The draw for the ATP Finals has been revealed, highlighting two groups led by Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. However, uncertainty remains as Novak Djokovic, seeded No. 4, has not yet confirmed his participation despite qualifying for the event.
Djokovic is currently competing at the ATP 250 tournament in Athens. He stated he will decide on his involvement in the ATP Finals after his run in Greece concludes. Djokovic is placed in the Jimmy Connors Group alongside No. 1 seed Carlos Alcaraz, Taylor Fritz, and Alex de Minaur.
The eighth and final position for the ATP Finals is yet to be finalized. Felix Auger-Aliassime and Lorenzo Musetti are competing for that last place. Currently, Auger-Aliassime holds the eighth spot in the rankings, but Musetti can secure his qualification by winning the Athens event on Saturday.
“We are waiting on the identity of our eighth player. By way of explanation, we have Lorenzo Musetti, who will qualify if he wins the current event in Athens. Anything less and the position will go to Felix Auger-Aliassime,” said ATP Tour supervisor Gerry Armstrong.
The tournament remains open-ended with Djokovic's participation yet to be confirmed and the final competing spot still in flux ahead of the season-ending championships in Turin.
“Djokovic will make a decision on his participation once his run in Greece is over,” as stated by sources close to the event.
