German automotive and industrial supplier Schaeffler has deepened its collaboration with Neura Robotics to strengthen humanoid robot production and innovation. The company will both supply essential components and integrate robots into its own manufacturing processes.
Under the new agreement, Schaeffler and Neura Robotics will jointly design and produce key parts for humanoid robots, such as actuators that control joint movement. Schaeffler’s expertise in planetary gearboxes ensures precision and high torque while maintaining a lightweight and durable build suitable for continuous operation.
By 2035, Schaeffler plans to introduce a “medium four-digit number” of humanoid robots across its production facilities. These robots will assist in manufacturing tasks and provide valuable production data.
Schaeffler announced that it will increasingly supply robot parts to Neura Robotics and integrate its humanoid robots into production.
Neura Robotics currently equips its humanoid robot, the 4NE1, with Schaeffler actuators capable of delivering up to 250 Nm of torque, enabling it to handle heavy loads efficiently. Future actuator demands for Neura’s robots will continue to be met through this partnership.
Schaeffler and Neura Robotics are reinforcing cooperation to co-develop humanoid robot components and integrate thousands of units into Schaeffler’s production by 2035.
