BJP Accuses Shiv Sena (Shinde Faction) of Manipulating Palghar Voter List
At a press conference held at the office of former city president Ashok Ambure on Wednesday, BJP leaders accused the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) of tampering with the voter registration process to benefit their group ahead of the Palghar Municipal Council elections.
Allegations of Voter List Manipulation
BJP representatives, including Ambure and former corporator Akshay Sankhe who recently joined the party, claimed that the Shinde faction is misusing power to manipulate the electoral rolls.
- Ineligible voters are allegedly added to the rolls.
- Eligible voters are transferred to different wards.
- Duplicate and triplicate entries exist for some voters.
- Names of individuals not residing in the area appear on the list.
- Family members are listed across different wards without consistency.

The BJP stated that they submitted documentary evidence and officially filed complaints with authorities on October 28.

Concerns Over Voter Registration Forms
The party also pointed out irregularities with the voter registration forms (Form A and Form B), which were allegedly filled in bulk with malicious intent:
- Forms often lacked required details such as address or proof of residence.
- Despite missing mandatory information, these forms were accepted by local administration.
Political Tensions Ahead of Elections
These claims have heightened political tensions in Palghar, signaling a heated contest for the upcoming municipal council elections.
