A new report warns that 600,000 additional workers may exit the workforce by 2030 due to illness unless employers fundamentally transform their approach to workplace health management.
The Keep Britain Working review, directed by Sir Charlie Mayfield, former head of John Lewis, criticized the existing system where individuals and the NHS shoulder the burden of addressing the growing wave of ill health affecting UK workplaces.
The report emphasizes that managing sickness should be a collective responsibility shared among employers, employees, and healthcare providers. British businesses currently face approximately £85bn annually in illness-related expenses.
According to the findings, without a substantial change in how companies address employee health, the nation risks losing hundreds of thousands more workers to sickness before the decade ends.
Резюме: Британские работодатели могут потерять 600 тысяч сотрудников к 2030 году из-за болезней, если не изменят подход к охране здоровья на рабочем месте.
