Joel Hofer delivered an impressive performance with 28 saves, leading the St. Louis Blues to a 3-0 victory over the Buffalo Sabres at KeyBank Center on Thursday. It marked his third career shutout and a strong rebound after replacing Jordan Binnington the previous night in a 6-1 loss to the Washington Capitals.

“Especially after last night, it tells a lot about our group, the character we have,” Hofer said. “After last night it was tough but we bounced back and got a good win.”

Mathieu Joseph contributed with a goal and two assists, while Justin Faulk recorded a goal and an assist as the Blues (5-8-2) secured their second win in three games.

Lineup and Coaching Decisions

The Blues made a notable change, scratching forward Jordan Kyrou, who had eight points (four goals, four assists) in 14 games.

“There were several people we weren’t happy with the effort last night,” said Blues coach Jim Montgomery. “It didn’t matter the role—many players didn’t meet expectations. We went with the group we believed gave us the best chance to win tonight.”

Sabres’ Streak Snapped

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen recorded 14 saves for Buffalo (5-5-4), as their seven-game point streak (3-0-4) came to an end.
