New Country to Join Abraham Accords, Says US Envoy

A new nation is set to officially join the normalization agreements with Israel, collectively known as the Abraham Accords, according to an announcement by US President Donald Trump’s special envoy on Thursday, as reported by Anadolu.

US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff made the statement during the FII Priority Summit in Miami Beach, Florida, on February 20, 2025. While he did not reveal which country would be joining, he confirmed that the formal announcement would take place later that evening in Washington.

“I’m flying back to Washington tonight because we’re going to announce tonight, another country coming into the Abraham Accords,”

said Witkoff during a business forum in Miami.

President Trump is also expected to host the leaders of five Central Asian nations — Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Kyrgyzstan — at the White House the same evening. It remains unclear whether the announcement will occur during this event, but the President is anticipated to attend any major declaration.

The Abraham Accords are diplomatic agreements established during Trump’s first term, aimed at normalizing relations between Israel and several Muslim-majority countries.
