Alan Carr revealed he has escaped to the United States before the final of the BBC hit reality show Celebrity Traitors. The 49-year-old comedian is one of the two remaining Traitors, competing against 25-year-old singer Cat Burns.
Known for his sharp wit and infectious laughter, Carr has gained huge popularity on social media. Despite this, he joked that he feels like the “most hated man in the UK” right now and has fled to Orlando, Florida, with his nephew and niece to avoid the public scrutiny.
“I’m the most hated man in the UK, I’ve had to come here to Orlando to get away from it. Everyone hates me!”
“I just needed to get away because it’s stressful murdering every day. My Christmas card list is getting smaller and smaller.”
During an interview with Heart radio hosts Olly Murs and Mark Wright at their pop-up studio, Carr explained his need for a break from the pressure of the show.
Murs playfully suggested that Carr dress as a Traitor while visiting Universal Studios, mentioning the availability of a Traitors-style cape at Harry Potter World.
Responding with humor, Carr said, “I’ve come here for a break!” and joked about riding the famous water slide at Universal's Volcano Bay wearing the cape and carrying a Traitors lantern.
Recently, Carr revealed that his close friend, Paloma Faith, is “not happy” with his behaviour on the show, adding a personal dimension to the public drama.
His journey highlights the intense scrutiny participants face on reality TV, balanced with moments of levity and escape.
