On October 14, 2025, young journalists from KidScoop Media had the chance to speak with education activist Malala Yousafzai via Zoom about her new memoir, Finding My Way.
Finding My Way explores Malala’s experiences as a student at Oxford University. It highlights the joys and challenges during this period, such as balancing her education advocacy efforts with academic responsibilities, her evolving perspective on mental health and self-care, and falling in love.
“I have come against criticism, comments my whole life. And you know, I have now grown through it… You know, I try to take any positive um, you know, good recommendation that can be helpful, but then there’s a lot that is not helpful at all and doesn’t add anything to the mission that I am focused on. So, sometimes, the best way is to avoid it.”
Both in her memoir and during the interview, Malala shared insights on growing up under intense public attention as a girls’ education activist.
This memoir offers an intimate look at Malala’s personal growth, revealing how she balances activism, education, and self-care amid public pressure.
