Actress Natalie Cassidy revisited her experience of being bullied during her school years, years after identifying singer Paloma Faith as one of her tormentors. The EastEnders star, 43, first raised the issue in the summer during her podcast, pointing to Paloma, 44, who attended the same secondary school in London a year above her.
Natalie shared that her time at Islington Green School, now the City of London Academy Islington, was often unpleasant. She suggested the bullying stemmed from jealousy linked to her early television success, as she had joined EastEnders at just ten years old.
“School was difficult, people were jealous.”
Speaking on Katherine Ryan’s What’s My Age Again podcast, Natalie said her happiest moments were on the EastEnders set. She explained that being away from school meant escaping the negativity of classmates who resented her success.
“You know, there was bullying that went on. So I always just wanted to be there because it was so fun and I was surrounded by nice people.”
Although she didn’t name Paloma Faith directly in this latest interview, Natalie previously stated that the pop star bullied her when they were students together. Cassidy grew up in Islington, while Faith was raised nearby in Stoke Newington.
“Paloma Faith, she bullied me at school.”
