Blue Jays manager John Schneider likes this costume much better than a year ago

Blue Jays Manager John Schneider Prefers This Halloween Costume

John Schneider is not particularly enthusiastic about Halloween, which perhaps comes as no surprise. Instead of typical Halloween celebrations, he found himself at the Rogers Centre with his Blue Jays team, preparing for a chance to clinch the franchise’s first World Series title in 32 years.

“Sitting in my neighbour’s driveway drinking a beer and giving candy,” Schneider said before Game 6 of the World Series. “I think Halloween’s a made-up holiday anyway. It’s kind of my least favourite holiday of the year. So if it’s a chance to hang out in the neighbourhood and have a couple of cold ones and laugh at some costumes, I’m all for it.”

Schneider expressed his preference for his current "costume" — his Blue Jays attire — over traditional Halloween costumes.

“But I like this costume a lot better,” Schneider said, pointing to his Blue Jays garb.

Despite the looming task of helping his team secure the championship, Schneider reflected on the past year between Halloweens.

“I always have that positive outlook, sometimes to the point of frustration to myself or people around me,” Schneider shared about his belief in turning things around. “I think you always have to say that could be the possibility. You never know who is going to do what and every postseason game has a twist and a turn. I think that we’ve done a good job of understanding that as a team.”

The significance of Halloween coincided with the excitement of Game 6 in the 121st World Series, blending tradition with the quest for a historic title.

Summary

John Schneider prefers celebrating Halloween in Blue Jays gear over traditional costumes, reflecting his optimistic mindset as the team chases a historic World Series win.
