Claire Elise Boucher, known as Grimes and former partner of Tesla and SpaceX owner Elon Musk, has voiced sharp concerns on social media about artificial intelligence and its effects on children.
“The biggest imminent threat is just outsourcing thinking.”
With this brief statement, Grimes alluded to the risks of relying too heavily on AI technology.
“I'm tired of experimenting on kids you know, smoking, MacDonalds and now we're gonna do it with this?”
Grimes expressed to Doomscroll's Joshua Citarella her worry that children are now exposed to new risks from AI, alongside past health concerns.
Musk’s platform is accessible to anyone aged 13 and older, with no age verification process at registration.
While fearing AI’s potential harm, including the possibility it might cause children to “die,” Grimes also anticipates future advances in AI.
“In some ways I can't wait for superintelligence - in some ways I can't wait. It's not as easy since I've had kids.”
Grimes warns about AI's danger to children but remains cautiously hopeful about its future development despite her fears.
