The global girl group KATSEYE, whose profile soared this year, received nominations for Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance categories.
“We grew up watching and dreaming about moments like this, and seeing it become real feels surreal.”
The group expressed gratitude for the recognition and the company of other nominees:
“We’re so thankful to the Recording Academy for this recognition and to all the incredible artists nominated alongside us. We can’t believe this; it’s so inspiring to be in such amazing company. Most of all, thank you to our fans, our Eyekons, for supporting us every step of the way.”
KATSEYE faces strong contenders for Best New Artist including Olivia Dean, The Marías, Addison Rae, Sombr, Leon Thomas, Alex Warren, and Lola Young. Last year’s winner, Chappell Roan, introduced the category during the Grammy nomination announcement stream on Friday morning.
The group experienced significant growth this year, initially gaining attention from the Netflix documentary Popstar Academy, which documented their rise from hopefuls to global stars.
KATSEYE was formed through the YouTube competition series Dream Academy, which brought together contestants aiming to create the first global girl group as part of a collaboration between K-pop powerhouse Hybe and Geffen Records.
KATSEYE's Grammy nominations mark a milestone in their rapid rise, fueled by unique global projects and passionate fan support.
