Hayley Williams returns with a fresh song titled Showbiz, coinciding with the long-awaited physical release of her album Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party. The track features crisp drums, a vocoder-enhanced chorus, and shimmering synth elements, presenting a romantic indie pop vibe.
The production, created by Williams alongside collaborator Daniel James, evokes the smooth, syncopated rhythms reminiscent of Phoenix. Notably, Williams sampled Phoenix’s 2017 track Fior di Latte on her recent single Love Me Different, underscoring this influence.
Although an official tour supporting Ego Death has not been announced, clues suggest plans are underway. Williams uploaded a photo in the “trash” folder on the album’s release site, showing a handwritten world tour routing that includes multiple North American cities such as Atlanta, Toronto, Nashville, Chicago, Austin, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Boston, New York City, and Los Angeles, as well as several UK and European locations.
Showbiz follows the track Good Ol’ Days, with both songs featured on physical editions of Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party.
“Showbiz” is a more romantic indie pop offering from Williams, featuring crisp drums, a vocoder-assisted chorus, and sparkly synths.
