Hayley Williams has unveiled “Showbiz,” a surprise addition to her third solo album Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party, officially released on vinyl today. The new track joins “Good Ol Days” and “Parachute,” extending the original 17-song collection she released this summer through her label Post Atlantic, distributed by Secretly Distribution.
Williams co-wrote “Showbiz” with producer and long-time collaborator Daniel James, who contributed to the entire album. The song unfolds as a reflection of an intimate encounter, set amid the hazy vibe of a club night.
“I wanna do it again, I wanna dance in the strobe lights, I wanna choke on the smoke, and feel your eyes on me.”
In the lyrics, Williams questions whether the connection she felt was mutual, expressing vulnerability beneath the intoxicating spectacle of nightlife.
The accompanying visualizer showcases Nashville’s skyline, enhanced with Williams’ distinctive hand-drawn scribbles seen throughout the album’s artwork. This visual continuity reinforces the personal and artistic cohesion of the LP.
To mark the album’s physical release, record stores worldwide hosted “Ego Nite,” an event featuring album playbacks, exclusive merchandise, and limited-edition vinyl copies. Fans engaged with the music in a communal, analog-inspired atmosphere.
Author’s summary: Hayley Williams expands her latest album with “Showbiz,” a heartfelt club-inspired track that deepens the emotional and visual identity of Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party.
