With this triple-double—his 204th career—Westbrook set a new milestone as the all-time best rebounder among guards, collecting 8,734 rebounds and surpassing Jason Kidd’s 8,725.
“Humbly, I am the best rebounder in history among guards,” Westbrook said confidently after the game. “So when the ball bounces off the rim, I go get it.”
Westbrook also became the first point guard to record a triple-double in his 18th NBA season, a remarkable feat for a player in his position. He currently averages 15.0 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game for the Kings.
