Rugged schedule, Steph Curry’s illness force Warriors to take early precautions

Rugged Schedule and Steph Curry’s Illness Prompt Early Precautions

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr confirmed that point guard Steph Curry will miss Wednesday’s game in Sacramento due to illness. Despite fighting a worsening cold for several days, Curry played through it during the Warriors’ 118-107 victory over Phoenix at Chase Center on Tuesday.

After the game, Curry admitted that his illness impacted his performance but initially remained hopeful about playing in the back-to-back matchup. However, Kerr dismissed any optimistic hopes.

“I don’t care what the doctors say, we got to get him some rest. I’ll make the decision right now, he’s not going to play tomorrow.”

In addition to Curry, the Warriors (5-3) might also be without star wing Jimmy Butler, who experienced lower back soreness. Butler played the first half but was ruled out at halftime after aggravating the injury after 14 minutes.
