Golden State Warriors star guard Stephen Curry's participation in Wednesday’s game against the Sacramento Kings remains uncertain. Following Tuesday’s victory over the Phoenix Suns, Curry revealed he has been battling a cold.
Despite scoring 28 points and making five three-pointers in the win against Phoenix, Curry experienced fatigue, especially in the second half. He stated that his energy was running low after the game and that he would consult with the team’s medical staff before deciding whether to travel and play against the Kings.
“I was running out of energy toward the end,” Curry said after the game. “I’ll see how I feel after checking with the medical staff, but we’ll make the smart call.”
The Warriors may also be without forward Jimmy Butler, who exited Tuesday’s game early due to a back problem. Head Coach Steve Kerr acknowledged that the team’s depth would be tested if both Curry and Butler are unavailable for the matchup against Sacramento.
The uncertainty around Curry’s status has influenced the betting market, with oddsmakers making Sacramento a 3.5-point favorite at home, reflecting doubts about the Warriors’ performance without their full lineup.
The Warriors face challenges ahead as Stephen Curry’s cold and Jimmy Butler’s back issue put their availability in doubt for the upcoming game, casting uncertainty on the team’s lineup and prospects.
