Mark Richt, who led the Georgia Bulldogs from 2001 to 2015, addressed false rumors about his health. The 65-year-old former head coach refuted claims that he was hospitalized.
“Apparently, there’s something out there on the Internet saying that I’m in the hospital. But if you would have seen me running down the street today, it was so pitiful you probably would have thought I needed to be admitted to the hospital. Lol.”
Richt previously experienced a heart attack in 2019 and was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2021. During his tenure with the Bulldogs, he compiled a 145–51 record, including two SEC championships and nine bowl victories. After Georgia, he coached at his alma mater, Miami, from 2016 to 2018.
Despite health challenges, Richt remains active and denies recent hospitalization rumors.
