Walker Ready to Move Out of Comfort Zone

Familiarity can lead to contentment. Euan Walker felt so at ease competing on the HotelPlanner Tour that it was almost as if he was playing casually. Reflecting on his four years in the second tier of European golf, the Barassie native said,

“I knew what I was playing in, I knew all the courses, the airports, hotels and how I would get there.”

He admitted, “So, yes, you do get comfortable. But that doesn’t mean I didn’t want to progress.”

Stepping Up to the DP World Tour

Walker has now achieved that progression. After narrowly missing out several times over the years, he secured promotion to the DP World Tour last weekend through the HotelPlanner rankings. The 30-year-old is no longer returning to familiar venues but is preparing for a new chapter on the main tour.

“I’m trying to get my head round the fact that I’m not going back to the same places and, instead, I’m planning for a new life on the main tour,” said Walker, who graduated alongside fellow Scots Daniel Young and David Law.

Proven Success and Preparedness

Walker earned his place through strong performances on the HotelPlanner Tour. He won twice in the second division, in 2022 and 2024, and while he did not claim a victory in 2025, his consistent play and steady improvement throughout the season led to his promotion.

Author's summary: Euan Walker leaves the comfort of the HotelPlanner Tour behind to embrace fresh challenges and make his mark on the DP World Tour through steady growth and determination.
