The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) have introduced new traffic management measures on key city routes due to the arrival and movement of cricket teams participating in the Tri-Nations Series. The diversions are aimed at ensuring public safety and smooth traffic flow during the matches and related events.
According to the ITP, traffic has been redirected on three major roads that connect central Islamabad with Rawalpindi and the sports complex area. Specific alternative routes have been identified to minimize inconvenience to commuters.
Road users are encouraged to follow detour signs and stay updated through ITP’s FM Radio 92.4 and official social media accounts.
Additional traffic wardens have been deployed to assist drivers in navigating changed routes and to handle potential congestion during match timings. The ITP spokesperson reminded citizens to cooperate with the traffic staff and avoid unnecessary travel through restricted areas when teams are on the move.
“We request the public to plan their journeys accordingly and appreciate their cooperation during the Tri-Nations Series,” stated an ITP official.
Advisories have been shared to inform residents about expected peak traffic hours. Ambulance and emergency services will still have access to diverted roads when required. The police assured that all diversions are temporary and will be lifted once the matches conclude.
