Canada's Air Transat announced it will progressively suspend its flights between December 8 and 9 due to a 72-hour strike notice issued by ALPA, the union representing 700 of the airline's pilots.
The strike notice from Air Transat's pilots will cause significant interruptions to the airline's operations, posing challenges for travelers and the airline industry at large.
"The union representing our pilots has issued a strike notice, which necessitates the suspension of flights beginning December 8," said Air Transat spokesperson.
This scheduled suspension highlights the serious impact labor actions can have on airline service reliability during peak travel periods.
