Potent Wind Storm Hits South King County
A potent Pacific storm brought strong winds, thunderstorms, and scattered power outages to the south King County region late Friday night and early Saturday.
According to meteorologist Michael Snyder of Pacific Northwest Weather Watch, the system developed from a jet stream and
brought some strong guststhat struck areas such as Normandy Park and SeaTac.
- Wind gusts of 50 mph or more were recorded along coastal Washington during the storm.
- Multiple rounds of thunderstorms rolled through, leaving downed trees and branches across neighborhoods, including in Burien and Federal Way.
