Three pugilists from the Pinnacle Boxing club in Belleville returned with medals from the provincial championships held in Windsor, Ontario. They secured first, second, and third places in their respective weight classes, demonstrating high performance at the tournament.
Pinnacle Boxing owner and head coach Blair Crawford expressed pride in his team's achievement. Crawford, along with four boxers, attended the competition in Windsor. Each fight consisted of three three-minute rounds, evaluated and scored by a judging panel.
“We are extremely disciplined, and we are very focused. Our cardio is second to none in this province, maybe this country, and maybe the world,” said Crawford. “I have a rigorous regimen here. I understand the energy systems and the science of boxing. I try to apply it and ensure everybody is always ready.”
According to Crawford, Boxing Ontario releases official match schedules three to four weeks before the fight dates, requiring the boxers to be prepared. The coach emphasized the importance of being ready, stating, “These guys have to be ready to rock.”
