KINGSTON, Jamaica — Springs Plaza, located on Constant Spring Road, has a heavy security presence ahead of Hurricane Melissa's landfall.
The plaza, a landmark in the Half-Way Tree business community for over 40 years, is home to many well-known tenants and has been secured by dozens of armed security personnel to prevent vandalism and looting.
"The security industry plays a vital support role to the security forces during natural disasters of the kind expected during and after the passage of Hurricane Melissa"
Jason McKay, CEO of McKay Security Limited, reminded that looting is a serious crime and warned against attempting to loot at locations manned by armed McKay Security officers.
