Six projects have received total funding of €36.9m under the Government’s seventh Disruptive Technologies Innovation Fund call.
The €500m fund supports top-tier research teams working on cutting-edge technologies, according to Minister James Lawless, TD.
Six additional projects have received collective funding of €36.9m, spanning critical sectors including ICT, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing.
One project, ‘Qubic’, consists of a consortium including Equal1, Dell Technologies, the Irish Manufacturing Research Centre, and CeADAR.
With a grant of €13.7m, Qubic aims to create quantum algorithms, hardware, and software to address challenges in energy, climate modelling, advanced materials, and pharmaceuticals.
