An application was submitted to Newry, Mourne and Down District Council by Mr Liam Devine of The Clanrye Group, a leading Newry-based provider of programmes and services designed to empower the local community.

The application seeks full planning permission to redevelop the former Iceland-occupied property at 28 Monaghan Street into a new Community Resource Building, changing its use from a "former single user retail" space with offices, stores, and ancillary facilities.
