The Michigan Military Technical and Historical Society Museum property has a rich history, transforming from an ice rink to a teen center, temporary City Hall, and finally, a museum.
According to Wendy Richardson, Military Museum CFO,
“It was called Shakespeare’s Field and it did not even have an address,”initially serving as an ice rink until tennis courts were added around 1970.
Richardson will present
“From Teen Center to Military Museum, The Story of our Building”on Nov. 9 at 2 p.m., showcasing her research on the property's history.
