The Ontario Chamber of Commerce has submitted its budget recommendations to the federal government ahead of the November budget release.
The chamber is calling for priorities that will create a competitive business and trade environment, including the removal of trade barriers between provinces.
“What’s going to be most important is what is in the actual budget next week,”
said La-Na Fragomeni, president of the Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce.
The budget comes at a time of economic uncertainty, with the ongoing global trade war and the federal Liberal government's inability to reach a trade deal with the United States that protects key industries such as steel, aluminum, and auto.
The Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce has aligned itself with the provincial chamber's advocacy actions.
