As the federal government shutdown continues, Extra Table FEEDS is launching an emergency response plan to double food distribution across Mississippi.
Mississippi families who depend on SNAP benefits are left without a safety net due to the ongoing shutdown. To combat this issue, Extra Table FEEDS announced a plan to help fight hunger across the state.
“We are doubling our donation, we are doubling our distribution. Our 66 food pantry partners will receive two deliveries, two pallets, twice the food,”
said Executive Director Martha Allen Price. The organization aims to feed more Mississippians as SNAP benefits pause.
