Assembly Member Steven Raga Celebrates Hispanic and Filipino Heritage
Assembly Member Steven Raga hosted two community events in October to celebrate Filipino and Hispanic heritage.
Raga, the first Filipino elected to office in New York, hosted his third-annual Filipino American History Month Celebration and Resource Fair at St. James Episcopal Church in Elmhurst on October 18.
A week earlier, on October 11, he celebrated his third-annual Hispanic Heritage Month at El Mariachi Mexican restaurant in Woodside, honoring the "rich cultures" of the neighborhood's Hispanic communities.
Both events aimed to recognize the contributions of generations of Filipinos and Hispanics in New York State.
