In June, Texas legislators passed a bill requiring the display of the Ten Commandments in every public school classroom across the state.
Senate Bill 10 took effect on September 1, and the Victoria Independent School District (VISD) began implementing the law on its campuses.
The district started receiving donations of the Ten Commandments posters in September from individual donors and faith-based organizations.
“VISD has worked carefully to ensure that each contribution is processed in alignment with state requirements,”
said Justin Gabrysch, VISD assistant superintendent of administrative services.
