Democrat Mikie Sherrill Elected Governor of New Jersey
Mikie Sherrill was elected governor of New Jersey, securing Democratic control of the state. She will be New Jersey's second female governor.
Sherrill, a former Navy helicopter pilot and four-term member of Congress, defeated Jack Ciattarelli, who was endorsed by President Donald Trump.
The election was disrupted by e-mailed bomb threats in seven counties, but law enforcement determined them to be unfounded. A judge granted a one-hour extension at some polling places.
