John Cantey's Continued Service

Cantey, the longest-serving member of the council, has been part of the board since 2005 and has now secured a sixth term.

“First and foremost, I’d like to thank God, all of our church families, civic groups and especially the residents of Precinct 5 for entrusting me to a sixth term as their representative,” Cantey said. “Being the only unopposed candidate with two write-ins, and winning in such a decisive victory, is an indicator of what the residents of Precinct 5 want as their representative."

These results reflect strong voter confidence in the current council members and their ongoing commitment to the community.

Author's summary: Four Lumberton City Council members secured easy reelections, with John Cantey winning a sixth term amid minimal write-in opposition, reflecting solid community support.
