According to a survey of 2,001 UK employees and 205 decision-makers, 76% of workers spend a significant portion of their week on admin tasks, leading to reduced morale and increased burnout.
On average, employees lose 9 hours a week, nearly a quarter of a 40-hour week, to "shadow work", with 12 minutes of focus lost every time they switch back to core tasks.
Half (50%) of UK employees identified shadow work as the biggest driver of burnout, while 52% reported that these extra tasks negatively affect their job satisfaction.
