Israel Has ‘Effectively Barred’ Relief to Gaza, Say Aid Groups

GAZA — Despite a declared ceasefire, Israel has permitted only around 100 aid trucks per day to enter the Gaza Strip. Humanitarian organizations report they are "effectively barred" from delivering urgently needed assistance to the devastated territory.

Limited Humanitarian Access

According to the Gaza Government Media Office, from the beginning of the ceasefire on October 10 until November 6, Israel allowed just 4,453 of the 15,600 scheduled aid trucks into Gaza. This represents only 28 percent of the planned deliveries. On average, 171 trucks per day have crossed, far below the 600-truck daily quota outlined in the humanitarian protocol.

“The occupation continues to impose a policy of deprivation and political pressure on more than 2.4 million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip,” the Office stated.

Restrictions on Essential Goods

The agency further reported that Israel’s blockade, described as a policy of starvation, has prevented over 350 basic food and medical items from reaching civilians, including supplies vital for children, the wounded, and the chronically ill.

Summary

Israel’s severe restrictions on aid trucks and essential goods have limited humanitarian relief to Gaza, leaving millions under sustained deprivation despite ceasefire promises.
