Remembrance Day Ceremonies in Hamilton, Burlington, and Brantford

Ceremonies are scheduled in several local cities to honor Remembrance Day and pay tribute to the sacrifices of those who have served. On November 11, most federal services and federally regulated businesses, including banks and postal services, will be closed.

Indigenous Veteran’s Day Commemoration

An event recognizing Indigenous Veteran’s Day is planned for 11:30 a.m. on Friday, November 7, at Battlefield House Museum and Park, 77 King St.

“This service acknowledges and commemorates the contributions made by Indigenous veterans in service to Turtle Island,” the City of Hamilton said in a news release.

The event at the Eagles Among Us Indigenous Monument will be followed by light refreshments and snacks featuring Indigenous flavors. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs due to limited seating availability.

Hamilton Garrison Parade and Service

The city’s garrison parade is set to begin at 10:15 a.m. on November 9, followed by a service at 10:45 a.m. The parade, including Hamilton veterans, garrison units, and cadet corps, will start at the John Foote V.C. N. and proceed south to Gore Park on King Street East.

The Remembrance Day service will be held at Veteran’s Place in Gore Park.
