Dozens of Animals Rescued from Central Falls Home Linked to Woman’s Death

The Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RISPCA) reported rescuing dozens of animals from a Central Falls residence connected to a recent woman’s death.

Rescue Operation Details

On Monday, the RISPCA removed a total of 50 abandoned animals from a home on Central Street. The rescued group included four dogs and 46 cats, with at least two of the cats confirmed to be pregnant.

Conditions at the Home

“These animals didn't have food and water, they have apparently been fed but the place is strewn with feces, and it reeks of ammonia, tough situation,” said Wayne Kezirian, president of RISPCA. “In a situation where people accumulate large number of animals, they don't seem to recognize that they're over their head, which is common, and have a tremendous amount of feces to the point where we're wearing masks and we're uncomfortable when we're in there.”

Connection to Woman's Death

Police reported that 24-year-old Erica Bader was found deceased in the woods in Pawtucket last week. An investigation indicated her body was moved to the wooded area after death. Authorities connected this case to the Central Street property from which the animals were rescued.

Next Steps for the Animals

The rescued animals will be taken to RISPCA's facility in East Providence for care and rehabilitation.
