Seven neighbours on a street in Brookmans Park won a total of £1 million thanks to the People's Postcode Lottery.
Steven Bean, 52, one of the triple-ticket winners, pledged to donate part of his prize to a charity supporting adults with learning difficulties.
“The first thing I’m going to do is give some money to a charity who had a bus stolen and burned.”
His wife, Olesya, shares the £250,000 prize with him.
On October 9, the charity [translate:Camphill Milton Keynes] reported their only minibus had been stolen and then found burned days later.
Steven Bean added:
“The bus is insured, but it won’t cover the cost of getting a new one. Hopefully other people will give them a few quid too.”
[translate:Camphill]’s head of development, Lucy Davies, said:
“It has been a very difficult time for our residents who have found this situation very confusing and upsetting.”
Summary: A Brookmans Park lottery win turned into support for local charity after a devastating arson, highlighting community generosity amid adversity.
