Wear a Red Poppy This Remembrance Day
RSL Victoria encourages people to buy a red poppy ahead of Remembrance Day. This day, observed on Monday, 11 November 2024, marks the anniversary of the Armistice that ended World War I fighting with Germany in 1918.

Every year, at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, millions pause to remember those who served. Services will take place at 11am in Ararat, Willaura, and Lake Bolac to honor the day.
The Symbolism of the Red Poppy
The red poppy, known as the "Flower of Remembrance," was among the first flowers to bloom on the battlefields of northern France and Belgium after the war's end. Australia adopted the poppy in 1921 as a symbol to remember the fallen and support those still living.
