It’s Not Too Late to Get Your Flu Vaccination
Somerset Council is reminding all eligible residents to get their flu vaccination if they have not yet done so. The ideal time for a flu shot is in autumn or early winter, before the virus begins to spread widely. This year, flu cases have already started to appear.
Flu is more than just a severe cold. It can lead to serious health complications, including infections such as bronchitis and pneumonia, or worsen existing medical conditions.

Flu spreads easily and, in severe cases, can cause hospitalisation or even death. Because the flu virus keeps changing each year, getting vaccinated annually is strongly recommended.
The NHS usually contacts those who qualify for the vaccine to arrange an appointment. Anyone who has not been notified but believes they are eligible should speak with their GP practice.
