‘Volatile’ Stalker Left GP Living in Fear During Eight-Month Ordeal

An obsessive and unstable man received one of the country’s longest jail sentences for stalking, after tormenting his former GP and leaving her terrified for months.

Background of the Case

David Taylor, 56, previously of Tarbolton Crescent in Hale, began his eight-month campaign in August last year after being banned from his GP’s practice. His aggressive and disturbing behavior toward her at work led to his name being placed on the practice’s barred list.

Escalation of Harassment

Following the ban, Taylor tracked down the doctor’s business profile online and sent her messages. When blocked, he used another account to contact her again, claiming he needed his medical records transferred to a new GP. His conduct grew increasingly alarming, and the doctor continued blocking his attempts to reach her.

Online Abuse and Fear

Taylor escalated his harassment by posting inappropriate comments on her professional Facebook page, heightening the victim’s distress and anxiety.

Confrontation at Her Home

The situation worsened on March 26 of this year, when Taylor unexpectedly appeared at her home in Knutsford. When she answered the door, he asked to speak with her. Shocked and terrified, she closed the door, called her husband, and dialed 999.

The victim was left living in fear, knowing that Taylor was aware of where she and her family lived, preventing her from feeling safe or living normally.

Author’s summary: A former GP’s stalker, David Taylor, waged an eight-month campaign of harassment that culminated in his appearance at her home, leaving her in constant fear.
