Josh Hazlewood took three wickets for 13 runs, putting India on the back foot before Mitch Marsh scored 46 runs to lead Australia to a four-wicket victory in the second Twenty20 international on Friday.
Hazlewood’s four-over opening spell was crucial in restricting India to 125 all out in 18.4 overs after Mitch Marsh won the toss and elected to field first.
Australia replied confidently, reaching 126-6 in 13.2 overs. Jasprit Bumrah briefly threatened the chase by taking two wickets in consecutive deliveries during the penultimate over, when Australia was just two runs away from winning.
"Everything feels in a good place, and ready to go," said Hazlewood, who will leave Australia's white-ball squad to prepare for the Ashes tests against England starting next month in Perth.
Summary: Josh Hazlewood’s impressive bowling and Mitch Marsh’s unbeaten innings secured Australia’s win in the second T20 against India, boosting confidence ahead of the Ashes.
