Dartmouth football looks to get back on track against Princeton this Saturday

Dartmouth Football Aims for Recovery Against Princeton

After a challenging road defeat to undefeated Harvard, Dartmouth's football team prepares to face the Princeton Tigers this Saturday. The Big Green fell 31-10 last week to Harvard's potent offense and solid defense, leaving the Crimson undefeated.

Signs of Resilience in Tough Loss

Despite the loss, Dartmouth showed resilience, especially in the third quarter. Head coach Sammy McCorkle noted the team’s strong halftime effort.

“We came out of halftime and really battled and put ourselves right back in the game,” McCorkle said. “But they just out-executed us and we didn’t make enough plays when we did get that momentum going … We talked about it at halftime. Just go out there and take one play at a time, and let’s make sure we just do what we do. I think we did that in the third quarter.”

Offensive Insights from Chris Corbo

Chris Corbo ’26, a 2024 All-Ivy First Team tight end, shared his perspective on the offense’s performance.

“We showed that when we play at our best we can execute against anyone,” Corbo said. “We came out of halftime with a purpose.”

Defense Focus and Future Goals

Defensive end Joshua Johnson ’27 highlighted the improvement in quarterback pressure and hopes the defense can replicate this against Princeton.

“With that game, specifically the pressure, we continued to put on the quarterback [which] was a huge thing,” Johnson said.

Dartmouth looks to build on these positives to regain momentum this Saturday.

Despite a tough loss, Dartmouth’s third-quarter fight and improved defense offer hope for a strong rebound against Princeton.
