At UFC Vegas 111 on Saturday night, welterweights Muslim Salikhov and Uros Medic clashed in a highly anticipated bout, both aiming to solidify their standing in the competitive 170-pound division. Salikhov, aged 41, came into the fight with a three-fight winning streak, including two spectacular first-round knockouts against Kenan Song and Carlos Leal.
Medic entered the contest following a win over Gilbert Urbina in August and has an impressive track record with wins against Tim Means, Matthew Semelsberger, Omar Morales, Aalon Cruz, and Urbina.
Medic started aggressively, applying pressure while Salikhov responded with high kicks. Maintaining his composure, Medic landed sharp, quick punches from the outside before delivering a decisive left hand that knocked Salikhov down, ending the fight swiftly.
“Salikhov appeared to be hunting for a knockout of his own, but Medic found the perfect counter first. Once he landed that it was all she wrote for Salikhov.”
This victory marked Medic’s second consecutive highlight-reel finish inside the UFC APEX, both occurring at the 1:03 mark.
Medic’s swift finish reinforced his rising momentum in the welterweight division.
