Rookie sensation Ivan Demidov had a goal and two helpers, leading the visiting Montreal Canadiens to a 4-3 win over the Vancouver Canucks Saturday at Rogers Arena.
Other goal scorers for Montreal (7-3-0) included Nick Suzuki, Juraj Slafkovsky, and Mike Matheson, with goalie Jakub Dobeš making 28 saves to pick up the win.
For Vancouver (4-5-0), forward Elias Pettersson, Jake DeBrusk, and Conor Garland scored, while Captain Quinn Hughes and Pettersson each dished out a pair of assists.
Kevin Lankinen stopped 20 of 24 shots but took the loss. Pettersson opened the scoring 4:42 into the first period, converting a nice return pass from Filip Hronek for his second goal of the season.
