The 40th annual Bronx Halloween Parade took place with perfect weather, featuring a variety of performers including ghoulish dancers, larger-than-life monsters, and haunted circus acts.
The parade was founded in 1986 by community leaders Father Louis Gigante and Sister Miriam Thomas. It has grown significantly since its humble beginnings, with only 50 people marching in the early years.
"I actually attended the parade as a child," said V. Taveras, one of the organizers. "To be one of the organizers now and celebrating 40 years, it’s a really full circle moment for me."
V. Taveras has been organizing the parade since 2019. The event marks a significant milestone, showcasing the community's pride and spirit.
