In San Francisco, a group of protesters gathered on Sansome Street on October 7, hoping to prevent ICE arrests.
A few hours before the post-work rush, protesters, some wearing kaffiyeh and goggles, dotted the quiet block, clustering around corners and sitting on the sidewalk.
They had gathered near the city's immigration court, located in the central-most building on the block.
"It's usually hours and hours of doing nothing until something happens,"
said one of the protesters, a professional musician who lives close to the city.
The protesters were prepared to wait, unwrapping packaged burritos as they milled around the building.
