UK Police Deploying Drones over London Streets

The UK's Metropolitan Police Service is deploying Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) to London in a new trial to provide police officers with new intelligence gathering capabilities.

The Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) has unveiled their Drone as First Responder (DFR) program, which aims to deploy a UAS to arrive at the scene of an incident and increase situational awareness for officers arriving at the location.

Response times for high-priority incidents average around eight minutes, but the DFR program aims to have a drone deployed within two minutes, greatly increasing the MPS' ability to understand the scene they are responding to.

Our new drones can deploy to calls in London instantly.

Author's summary: UK police use drones for instant response.
