The B.C. Crown is seeking a 12-year jail sentence without parole for Charlene Jane Alexander, convicted of second-degree murder.
Alexander fatally stabbed 26-year-old Jessie-Mae Hayward-Lines outside the Prince George courthouse on July 2, 2020.
“bullying to the extreme”
Crown prosecutor Tyler Bowman described the case as one of extreme bullying, where Alexander carried out a purposeful and brutal act of violence against a gentle newcomer.
Hayward-Lines was a vulnerable person who had done nothing to provoke the attack, other than refusing to turn down her music in a public place.
Author's summary: Alexander faces 12-year jail sentence for murder.
