Elliott wins Gainesville City Council Ward 2 seat
Jon Elliott won the election for the Gainesville City Council Ward 2 seat, defeating Albert Reeves with 67% of the vote to Reeves' 33%.
Elliott will fill the seat left vacant by Zach Thompson, who stepped down to run for Gainesville mayor, a race he won uncontested.
Elliott will take the seat effective January 2026.
